Under Agreement 1529 of the Board of Directors of the Guatemalan Institute of Social Security, published in the Official Bulletin on January 16th, 2023, starting January 17th all employers are obligated to register before the Social Security System, and to register the employee or employees. This substitutes the previous rule under which the obligation to register was only for employers with three or more employees.
Agreement 1529 introduces other amendments which may be relevant to your activity.
